Pseudocyst of Adrenal Gland

Abstract

|
A 24 years old Korean housewife, 6th month of pregnancy, was seen in shock after receiving
trauma by falling down. Ruptured adrenal cyst was identified by laparotomy. The cyst was found
at the retroperitoneal space between right kidney and liver. Cyst was completely removed after
clearing blood clot. The cyst removed measured 20×16×0.7㎝ in size and ovoid in shape. Histol
ogically it was confirmed as adrenal pseudocyst containing adrenal gland tissue. Abortion su
pervened on the 3rd postoperative day and recovery was uneventful. It has been known for a long
time that pseudocyst of adrenal gland is very rare entity but recognition of it´s existence is em
phasized. A brief review of the pertinent literatures were made.
